Connie McVicker is the owner of Signature Worx LLC providing creative and marketing support services to solo entrepreneurs and small business owners to help alleviate the enormous workload that comes with owning a business. Connie began working as a receptionist with no computer skills but quickly discovered her forte in supporting others and later in her abilities for creative design. After 14 years of climbing the corporate ladder and supporting busy executives in professional environments, she took her extensive computer knowledge and creative design skills and founded Signature Worx LLC in January 2006. Her specialties include graphic and web design, identity and branding, desktop publishing, event planning, and Internet marketing.
Signature Worx is a product of Connie’s vision to be successful while helping others to do the same. For her, there is no greater satisfaction than knowing she had a part in making something or someone successful. It is truly what drives her and her business. Connie’s vision manifests itself daily with her extensive participation in volunteer and trade organizations. She is a member of the International Virtual Assistants Association (IVAA), the Virtual Assistant Revolution, and the VA Networking Association. Her participation and volunteer efforts were rewarded in 2007 as she was nominated for the second annual Janet Jordan Achievement Award. The award honors a Virtual Assistant who has been in business for less than two years and has reached a milestone in their short career. This milestone needs to be an accomplishment that helped to boost their new business to an overwhelming success. McVicker reached her milestone by developing a strong brand – a brand that “Worx”. Having her peers nominate her for such an honor is proof of her success.
In addition to taking on the Visionary VAs Collection, a series of eBooks co-written about how to start your own virtual assistance business, Connie also recently launched The VA Connection, an extensive directory of resources available to virtual assistants worldwide including industry organizations, education, books, guides, blogs, eZines and so much more. As a VA who knows what’s out there, this was one project she felt the industry needed and it continues to grow every day. |
